From Emma Stone in Valentino to Sienna Miller in Michael Kors, here's our round-up of the best and worst looks from the red carpet as colour made a comeback and the British flag flew high

After years of understated nudes, colour was back on the red carpet in a big way at the 74th Golden Globes ceremony on Sunday.

The Hollywood elite put on a colourful display, with an array of pretty pinks and sunburst yellows being the prettiest and hottest hues.

Even the stars that played it safe shimmered in sparkling silver and gold embellished fabrics, or opulent monochrome gowns. A remaining few opted for dazzling white and baby blue.

It was a good night for the Brits who put on a bold and beautiful display with Claire Foy, Lily Collins, Sienna Miller, Naomie Harris, and Felicity Jones all making it onto the best dressed list.

And with lots of actresses opting for home grown talent like Jenny Packham, Vivienne Westwood and Erdem, it was also a great night for British fashion.
