Best Coats Fall-Winter 2017-2018

When autumn knocks us at the door, it is time to think of a basic element in any woman’s closet, the ideal coat that will keep us warm like a warm blanket protecting us from the cold and wind. The practical aspect is also important, but we must not forget the style and the designers have already prepared a rich assortment with what will be fashionable this season. Talking about fashion coats fall-winter 2017-2018, the focus is on comfort: the patterns have a fairly free cut and do not restrict movement, and the range of colors allows the use of shades without any interference. So let’s look at the latest coat trends.

The return of capes

This garment became known better few seasons ago The cape is characterized by the lack of sleeves, and this season the pattern and its elements of decoration can be absolutely different: two rows of buttons, slightly tight on the waist, with fur decoration or without. For some people, this type of coat may seem quite capricious in terms of comfort, but it also allows the creation of absolutely unrepeatable looks. The classic combination is that between the headcoat and the long leather gloves in contrast shades. In 2018, designers are proposing to wear the cape with male boots or boots over knees with rivets and massive decoration.

Fur trimming

A major importance is given by designers to furm, fearless of using it in all sorts of interpretations. And here, on the first place is the colorful fur in the most diverse shades: blurred purple, pink sorbet, intense terracotta or golden lime. The fur is used for collar, cuffs, laces, and hood. In shades of contrast or in a range of colors with basic, natural or artificial material, fur will become an original addition to any texture.

Photographic prints and multicolored applications

The fall and winter trends are quite conservative, although there is a place for some contrast. In 2018 it is presented with photographic prints such as fashion collages and multicolored huge applications, the abundance of which may initially seem extravagant, but a correct approach will make you look stylish and unusual. A thick heavy cloth coat will look great if added shades of sparkles and patches.

Cocoon Coat

The motifs of retro style in modern interpretation go out of the limits of couture collections. Hypetrophilic volume, light colors and the freedom of movement of the cocoon coat are ideally suited to life parameters in the conditions of a large city. However, this model is pretentious with regard to the perfection of the cut of each construction element, as well as the quality of the fabrics, on which many things depend: the coat does not have to hang on the body and lose shape during the movement. Care will also be taken with the volume of the coat, which will be chosen depending on the particularities of the body.

Straight floor length

In light of the latest trends, designers have been promoting for some time the maxi coats as classic English-style coats, an important part of the basic wardrobe for the fall-winter season. Noble fabrics (thick coat fabrics, tweed fabrics) in shades of blue, green, gray and the most common colors in 2018 such as camel, pale pink, ocher will blend in most casual looks. Minimal details: right cut, discrete trimming, constructive laconic elements and nothing more. We must not forget about prints and textures. The latest proposals from designers include the “Prince of Wales” stripes or coats in classic beige and gray shades on the front or on the lining, as well as the use of quilted fabrics.

Oversize

The notion of oversize is an indispensable part of grunge style with disordered character and oversize clothing. With no silhouette shapes, the thicker and harder the coat is, the better. This coat is universal and its presence in the closet leaves room for imagination allowing for the crafting of dozens of stylish combinations. There are no strict rules in using this detail: usually the emphasis is on the simultaneous use of elements in diametrically opposed styles and stratification. Do not be ashamed to wear an oversize coat with ripped boyfriend jeans, robe boots, jackets and white shirt inside, as well as a pencil dress and stiletto shoes.

Fall/ Winter 2017-2018 Handbag Trends

The fall/ winter 2017-2018 handbag trends were all over the map, with both serious and ridiculous options rampant on the runway, to suit every kind of woman. There were a lot of plain leather bags in a variety of shapes and sizes, but there were also some extreme elements. Below, discover the top handbag trends for fall 2017 that will likely land on your new wishlists!

# Multi-Bags

Why have just one handbag, when you can carry two or even three? Okay, fine, I can think of multiple reasons why multiple bags might not be so convenient. But nevertheless, designers loved the idea of layering purses in a variety of sizes and shapes for the fall/ winter 2017-2018 bag trends.

The most frequent way of layering was adding a tiny micro-purse to a larger bag, perhaps to act as a convenient coin holder, but that certainly was not the only way we saw this trend happening.
At Fendi, bags were combined in a few different ways. In a few cases, smaller bags for coins or lip-gloss were looped over the handle of a larger bag, providing a nice color and texture contrast. In another case, three small bags in descending sizes and of different leather colors and textures were looped on a large metal ring, almost looking like a large key chain set.

At Gucci, each bag was a statement, so double the bags meant double the statements. Or triple, rather, as three bags that were layered were hung each above the other, in one of the more organized ways of multi bagging.

At Maison Margiela, we saw the unique pairing of a small sized backpack (that could probably also be carried as a handbag), along with a larger shoulder bag made of a plaid fabric.

# Backpacks

As an eternal teenager, I absolutely adore the fact that backpacks are part of the fall 2017 handbag trends. They are much more comfortable and ergonomic, so it makes me so happy to see so many chic versions of them. Sure, a backpack might never be an appropriate choice for more formal wear, but high fashion certainly has a place in daily life!

The fall 2017 bags in the Jeremy Scott collection were all irreverently whimsical, channeling the kind of rude humor and silly characters that were ubiquitous in ‘90s teen fashion. A brightly colored backpack with such a design on it is a natural creation, but it’s certainly the kind of item that would only work in the most casual situations.

There were also some adorable and unique leather backpacks at Coach, Ralph Lauren, and Maison Margiela.

# Clutches

A clutch is a symbol of sophistication, and a testament that one is willing to sacrifice convenience for class. Almost every runway this season featured a clutch or two, but a few really stood out for their cleverness or uniqueness.

A slightly more casual take on clutches at Marc Jacobs was an interesting choice. We saw a lot of plain leather clutches for fall 2017, in shades of white, light brown, and warm brown, which are normally more appropriate for daytime.

More than half the fall 2017 bags in the Miu Miu collection were clutches that were anything but clutches. There were many elements incorporated into these clutches (sometimes all of them in one bag), including snakeskin, fur, leather, belts buckles, and jewels.

We also saw clutches at Dries Van Noten, Coach, Yves Saint Laurent, and many others runway shows.

# Handbags with Chain Handles

While the overwhelming choice for the winter 2017-2018 handbag trends was leather straps, chain straps still gleamed here and there on the runway. Unique chain handles with a Victorian vibe warmed our hearts on the Bottega Veneta runway. The bags were all made of warm shades of leather and crocodile skin, and their handles were made of thicker chains made of a brassy metal.

The fall 2017 handbags at Alexander Wang could best be described as punk rock bling. All black bags, with shiny metallic elements straddled glamour and edge perfectly, with shiny chain straps in a variety of different designs.

We also saw chain handles at Christopher Kane, Jacquemus, and more.

# Bucket Bags

I love bucket bags, especially when they are smaller, because they remind me of renaissance fairs. I can just imagine being an old timey bard, carrying my coins in this kind of bag with a drawstring top. Now, of course, this is not what designers had in mind when putting together all of the incredibly chic, unique, and fashionable bucket bags that made it into the fall/ winter 2017-2018 bag trends.

At Versace, there were multi-color bags, including a bucket bag of a medium size, with panels in bright shades of orange, red, and blue leather.

The Best Watches Under E 200 You Can Buy In 2018

For those who work in the world of watches, the third week of January is when you get on a plane to Geneva for four days of champagne drinking and handling some of the most expensive and technically accomplished timepieces around – otherwise known as Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH).

We may have seen enough launches to go a little watch-blind, but below are our top eight. If you’re a watch nerd like us, or you just want to adorn your wrist with a baller design piece, these are the timepieces you should be considering.

IWC Tribute to Pallweber ‘150 Years’

When you’re IWC and you have an anniversary to celebrate, choosing a watch to mark that milestone is going to be hard. Which is why, for its 150th, the Schauffhausen resident has decided to launch 25 new references across five of its most iconic families.

Although there are the usual suspects in there – dress watches and divers – it is this tribute to the Pallweber pocket watch that really gets the pulse racing. Back in 1884, IWC’s second owner Johann Rauschenbach-Schenk secured the rights to Josef Pallweber’s digital jump hours technology and here it has been rendered in wristwatch form for the first time.

Rather than go for a straight reproduction, IWC has Art Deco’d the font, plumped up the mechanism and put the whole thing in a decadent, 18-carat red gold case. The result is a dress watch like no other.

Montblanc 1858 Geosphere World Time

After spending a few years trying on different identities, Montblanc has finally decided that its purpose in life is to make really great watches at astoundingly good prices, and this year’s crop of chronographs and calibres is no exception.

The star of the show was this 1858 Geosphere. The 1858 collection is a tribute to the Minerva manufacture, which was integrated into Montblanc back in 2008, and this specific model is dedicated to the world’s Seven Summit mountaineering challenge; the successful ascent of the highest mountain on every continent, which has only been completed by 500 athletes.

The two globes, which make a full rotation in 24 hours, represent the northern (at 12) and southern (at six) hemisphere, with the former spinning anti-clockwise and the latter clockwise. There is a day/night ring around each, so you can approximate the time around the globe. You’ve also got a second time zone at 9 o’clock, which is more straightforward to read.

It’s a great-looking timepiece that might not take you up a mountain but will certainly take your watch game to new heights.

Top Cheap Men watch in 2018

I wear a watch pretty much every day. I like them for their simple style as a fashion piece, and the convenience of quickly checking them from time to time. While I have a couple of different watches that I like to wear, some of my favorites are the Fairfields from Timex, the simple clean design, reliable quartz movement, and extremely affordable price, means you can get a couple of them without breaking the bank and wear them for pretty much any occasion.

Best Cheap Watch for men 2018
this is my favorite budget watch under $100. So let me first clear some things up front. These Timex Fairfield watches are budget watches. That means they don’t use expensive sapphire glass for extra scratch resistance, it’s a quartz movement powered by a battery, and there’s no built alarm, smart features, or calculator if you want that sort of thing. So while I appreciate the design and work behind a well crafted automatic mechanical watch. And I’m big fan of Seiko watches if you’re looking for one on a budget. I still like having a quartz watch around due to the convenience of a long battery life, the reliable time accuracy and the low cost that these watches can be purchased at. I purchased two watches from Timex; The Original Fairfield and the Fairfield Chronograph, each which I like in their own respect. The design on these watches are clean and minimal. Simple notches as hour markers, subdue low key branding and features, and overall symmetrical design. Even the chronograph version with the extra complications I still find very simple and clean such that I can switch between them regardless of the occasion. I purchased both of these watches with fabric straps and really enjoy the flexibility of using Nato straps on my watches. Extras can be purchased fairly cheap and swapping between them is super quick and easy so you can switch them daily depending on how you feel. The features on the watches are pretty simple. The Fairfield has just a single crown that you pull out to set the time. And press it in to illuminate the Indiglo light. Water resistance up to 30 meters and a replaceable battery like any normal watch. I guess one flaw I have with the watch is the noise. The second hand is quite audible if you’re sensitive to ticking noise. It’s not any issue in a typical environment but you’ll probably hear it in a quiet library or by your bedside late at night. So if this is an issue for you, go for the Chronograph version that doesn’t have the issue with the loud ticking second hand. The Fairfield chronograph has a couple extra features over the original. A similar main crown that lets you adjust just the hour or the minute hand. A date indicator. And the chronograph feature. As a chronograph, the second hand doesn’t sweep like normal instead the lower dial is used to indicate the seconds counting during the day. The top two dials and the large second hand are used for the timer. Starting and stopping with the top button, and reset or lap times with bottom button. It also has the Indiglo light activated by pressing in the main crown for easy readability at night. So those are a couple of the Timex Fairfield watches. And I think they are some of the best value watches available in the market. They’re stylish, well-built and relatively cheap compared to most fashion watches. While it probably won’t be a watch you pass down to your kids as a family heirloom, it’s still a great everyday beater that will still turn some heads with its clean and modern design. But hope you guys enjoyed this one. You know what to do. And I’ll see next time.

Guidemaster: Fitness trackers to consider before buying a smartwatch

The smartwatch hasn't swallowed up the fitness tracker yet. While many consumers are intrigued by the Apple Watch, Android Wear devices, and the like, old-school fitness trackers can still be useful and available for the right price. The main goal of these devices remains simply tracking activity: from daily movement to intense exercise to steps, heart rate, and sleep. Most of today's fitness trackers haven't changed much aesthetically, either. They're still, by and large, wristbands.

Most modern fitness trackers are meant to be worn all day long. And many now have basic "smartwatch" features, so you don't have to fully sacrifice if you're primarily looking for a wearable to help you get in shape.

With so many devices sharing the same basic goals and set of features, it can be hard to decipher which tracker is right for you. But from our testing, there are some fitness trackers that stand out among the rest—some for their thoughtful applications, others for their versatility, and some for their focused approach to fitness training. So with spring on the horizon and 2018 resolutions still holding strong, we've looked back at the fitness trackers we've reviewed recently and selected the best ones for all kinds of users.

Fitbit Alta HR: The best for the most of us

The easier it is to track fitness, the more likely people are to actually do it. Fitbit's $149 Alta HR is a device that makes tracking movement, exercise, and sleep so convenient that you might as well just stick with it. Its slim design makes it unassuming and comfortable on the wrist, and it has a bunch of interchangeable bands available so you can switch up its look to match any outfit or occasion.
SPECS AT A GLANCE: FITBIT ALTA HR
PRICE $149-$179
HEART RATE MONITORING Yes, continuous
GPS No
WATER RESISTANCE Rain-, sweat-, and splash-proof
SMARTPHONE ALERTS Yes (call, text, and calendar)
SIZES Small, large, and extra-large
BATTERY LIFE Seven days
While that feature may induce eye-rolls from some potential users or wearable skeptics, it's actually quite important for retention. The easier it is to wear a fitness tracker each day—regardless of what you're doing—the more likely it is that you won't take it off once and then never put it back on.

Despite its small size, the Alta HR includes an accelerometer and continuous heart rate monitor inside. It'll track your heart rate from the moment you wake up in the morning to the moment you wake up the following morning—and even in doing so, it has a battery life of seven days. The only time you'll want to take the Alta HR off your wrist is when you bathe, since the device isn't waterproof.

With continuous heart rate tracking, the Alta HR provides an interesting look into your overall health, in addition to important stats achieved during exercise. It measures your resting heart rate, your pulse throughout the day and during the night while you sleep, and heart rate during exercise, which is then sectioned and graphed into various heart rate zones in the Fitbit app.

The exercise heart rate graphs are particularly important because they can tell you how hard your heart needs to work during different workouts. Heart rate during sleep informs the Sleep Stages and Insights data in the Fitbit app, which the company introduced last year to give users feedback into how exercise and daily habits affect sleep as well as suggestions on how to get a better night's sleep based on those habits.

While the Alta HR has a tappable touchscreen that lets you scroll through the time and various daily activity stats, you don't need to use the touchscreen when you want to track a workout. The device uses Fitbit's Smart Track technology, which allows it to automatically recognize and record activities, including walking, running, and biking, whenever you're doing them for more than 10 minutes.

There's even a general "sports" category that it will automatically track, which should record any periods of activity in which your heart rate is raised. Rather than fumbling through a list of sport profiles and picking the type of exercise you want to try, you can just start working out and let the Alta HR do the rest.

Unlike most modern smartwatches, the Alta HR takes a limited approach to smartphone notifications by only delivering call, text, and calendar alerts to your wrist. For those who use the default phone, messaging, and calendar apps, these alerts are some of the most crucial to receive even when your smartphone isn't in front of you.

The Alta HR connects to Fitbit's mobile app for Android and iOS, which has been the best fitness tracker companion app for quite some time. Aside from its friendly UI, the app makes it easy to see all the data tracked automatically from any Fitbit device in addition to making it easy for the user to input data like amount of water consumed, food eaten, and more. The HR also has plenty of fitness challenges you can complete based on your location, as well as challenges you can do with friends and family or to simply beat your own record.

The Fitbit software experience, combined with the simplicity and convenience of the Alta HR, make this device the best for most users—whether you're one of the many people who made a fitness-related New Year's resolution or one who regularly changes up their workout routine. For $149, the Alta HR provides the most essential fitness features that most people can and will find useful, and its long battery life encourages you to rarely take the device off. It's the device to choose if you want the best value for your money and a device that you won't abandon in a few, short months.

The Good
Accurate and continuous heart rate monitoring that influences much of the fitness data collected.
The Bad
No built-in GPS or connected GPS feature.

Misfit Ray: Solid tech in a stylish frame

Misfit is known for its minimalistic approach to wearable tech, and the company's $79 Ray tracker might be the most versatile of them all. While Misfit has expanded over the years to make full-fledged smartwatches, hybrid watches, and other devices, the Ray is a simple, cylindrical tracker that can have as much personality as you want it to have. With seven module colors and numerous types of interchangeable bands, the Ray could be a nondescript bracelet or a fashion statement depending on how you dress it up. The M.Y. Misfit option lets you personalize the Ray—and a bunch of other Misfit devices—before you even buy it.

Misfit makes sport, stainless steel, nylon, leather, nylon tassel, and double leather wrap bands for the Ray, with the most expensive adding just $20 to the cost of the device. That means you could invest in a few band options to make the Ray a wardrobe staple without breaking the bank. In addition, Misfit sells a necklace attachment so you can wear the tracker around your neck and give your wrist a break.

The small tube is perfectly sized to hold fitness tracker tech while also masquerading as a piece of jewelry. Inside the Ray are an accelerometer, a vibration motor, and tiny LED lights that let it track daily activity and sleep, as well as receive select smartphone notifications.

Since it has no screen or buttons, the Ray isn't a device to be interacted with like the Alta HR—but most of us don't interact with the jewelry we're wearing. Like a regular bracelet or necklace, the Ray is meant only to be worn and left alone to track your every step.

However, Misfit does give power-users the option to use the Ray as a Misfit Link remote. Link is the company's service that most of its devices connect to in order to control various actions like turning on a smart lightbulb, taking a photo on your smartphone, or controlling music playback. You don't have to use Link on the Ray, but it's another aspect of its versatility that makes this device a stylish and functional companion to wear all day long.

The Good
Many interchangeable band options and module finishes to choose from at affordable prices.
The Bad
Tracks only general fitness stats since it doesn't include many sensors.
