Makeup Trends, Review, Swatches Spring, Fall 2017, 2018: Best Nail Polish Looks From NYFW 2016

New York Fashion Week has wrapped and we always look forward to the hair, beauty, and nail trends that will be seen the next season. For Fall 2016, it looks like the days of crazy nail art are over and done. Instead, we’ll see pretty nude nails and simpler easy-to-create graphic nail art.

Sally Hansen is proud to be the exclusive nail partner for 3.1 Phillip Lim and to create nail looks for the Fall 2016 fashion show during New York Fashion Week. “For Fall 2016, I was looking at a lot of Japanese influences so it was important to me that the nails were precise and simple. We went with graphic combinations of neutral and metallic creating a beautiful optical illusion effect,” explained Phillip Lim.
“3.1 Phillip Lim’s new collection was inspired by Japanese craftsmanship, elegant lacquered wood, samurai sword embellishment, and even lipstick packaging. We did a circular optical illusion in Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Commander in Chic and Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Gilty Party on half of the girls and an oval shape in Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Camelflage and Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Gilty Party on the other half. The oval shape was inspired by the hardware on the bags and belts.” – Madeline Poole, Sally Hansen Global Color Ambassador

Warm cozy knits in shades of navy, light blue, white, beige and ivory are featured prominently in Jonathan Simkhai’s Fall/Winter 2016 runway show. To carry this sentiment through to the nails, Rita Remark for essie chose coordinating shades find me an oasis, wrap me up, all eyes on nudes, marshmallow and midnight cami on nails. To enhance the cozy feeling she applied matte about you, and then used gel.setter top coat to create a textured cable knit sweater design as an accent on the middle and ring fingers.

To pair with Rebecca Minkoff‘s Fall/Winter 2016 collection, Michelle Saunders for essie created a warm, coral “tone on tone” nail design inspired by the modern music girl. To achieve the look, she used new spring shades sunshine state of mind, lounge lover and high class affair.

Get The Look:
1. Apply first base base coat to clean, filed nails

2. Next, apply sunshine state of mind from the cuticle of the nail to the middle of the nail
3. Then, create a straight line by using a cleanup brush dipped in polish remover (you can also

use tape to create this line) 4. Next, apply lounge lover from the middle of the nail to the free edge
5. Using high class affair, create a neat arc across the free edge of the nail, connecting the sides

of the French tip to the straight line 6. Finish with gel.setter top coat
The Jill Stuart collection featured rich velvets, romantic ruffles and dazzling jewels that were all perfectly complimented by the multidimensional Edyta. Rebecca Isa, Creative Director of ZOYA says Jill Stuart wanted a polish that was as multifaceted as her Autumn/Winter collection which is why she chose Edyta which is a complex mixture of gold, olive, blue-green and smoky grey with a sparkling metallic finish.
Prep the nail by shaping, gently buffing and cleaning up cuticles. Prepare the nails for flawless application with the Naked Base followed by one coat of the Naked Manicure Nude Perfector. Then apply two coats of Edyta  and complete the look with the Naked Manicure™ Glossy Seal for a glassy high-shine finish.
